Patrick Fitzgerald ’82 delivered a talk titled “Ten Myths About Terrorists and How We Fight Them,” on Oct. 13, in Merrill Science Lecture Hall.

Many Amherst students attended Fitzgerald's lecture, which was free and open to public.
Fitzgerald took questions from the audience.
“The difference between a mobster and a terrorist is [that] terrorists believe in a cause. They believe in helping poor people as much as [terrorism],” Fitzgerald said.
Fitzgerald has been fighting terrorism since 1988, when he became the assistant U.S. attorney in New York City.
