Senator Jamie Raskin P '14, '17 and Delegate Sandy Rosenberg ’72, the floor leaders of Maryland’s recent legislation abolishing its death penalty, and Austin Sarat, the William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Jurisprudence and Political Science, discussed the political, legal and moral considerations that are changing people's minds about the death penalty punishment laws. In the last ten years there have been dramatic declines in the number of people being sentenced to death and in the number of executions in the United States.
