Library values and services

The Library is committed to making its collections and services as accessible as possible and will provide assistance to anyone requiring it. Please ask staff members on duty for assistance with retrieving material from the stacks, enlarging the font on library computers, or other needs.

The Library works closely with Accessibility Services which has oversight of disability-based services and accommodations for students on campus. Each student's needs and requests are handled individually.  Please contact the college's Accessibility Services Office, 201 Converse Hall, 413-542-2337,  accessibility@amherst.edu if you have problems, questions, or concerns. The Library has multiple methods of obtaining alternate format materials, including audio, as needed.

Physical accessibility and Library spaces

Robert Frost Library and Keefe Science Library are physically accessible. There are physically accessible computers in Frost Library (main floor and A level lab).  Users may make accessibility adjustments (i.e., adjust screen resolution) to all library computers.

Morgan Music Library is not physically accessible to users unable to climb stairs.  Music Library materials may be delivered to Frost Library as necessary.  For assistance, contact Susan Kimball, Head of Access Services.
