Research Interest: I am interested in researching what is taught within International Politics and Practices curricula at institutions similar to Amherst College, specifically regarding US foreign policy objectives in the Middle East post-9/11, and theorizing as to what the tangible effects of these self-representations might be. How do such imperialistically inclined dialogues concerning war, peace, and security serve to produce pro-war sentiment in institutions of higher education and how does this sentiment manifest itself in US foreign policy? What mechanisms are in place within institutions of higher education that serve to produce these pro-war sentiments?
