Early April - April 7th at Noon
Draft of thesis proposal is due to your Academic Advisor.

Late April - April 27th at Noon
Final thesis proposals due. (Instructions will be sent to you)
If the thesis proposal is accepted, then a Thesis Advisor will be assigned.

Throughout the Summer - Writers work on their theses.
Writers should be registered for Fall ENGL 498.

Continue working on your thesis over the summer.

First week Fall Classes
Writers must submit a thesis update (exact date TBD), check in with their Thesis Advisors to discuss their summer progress and confirm that they are continuing with their thesis project.

Continue working on thesis during fall semester

Late January
Formal update of your thesis progress is due to the department (Instructions will be sent to you).
Thesis writers should be registered for ENGL 499.

Wednesday, April 10th at noon
Thesis submissions are due (exact date TBD).

April 22nd-30th
Thesis defenses take place these two weeks

Early May
Thesis honors recommendations from the department are due to the Registrar.

Friday, April 5th - Draft proposal is due to your Academic Advisor

Thursday April 25th at noon - Final proposal is due to the department
(submitted electronically – directions will be sent to you)
The faculty will discuss proposals at an early May department meeting.
If the proposal is accepted by the department then a Thesis Advisor will be assigned and you will be notified by our ADC by the end of the semester.

Throughout the summer of 2024 - Writers work on their thesis.
Writers should be registered for Fall ENGL 498.

First week of fall 2024 classes - Writers must check-in with their Thesis Advisors to discuss their summer progress and confirm that they are continuing the thesis project.

Late January 2025 - A formal update of your thesis progress is due to the department (submitted electronically – directions will be sent to you).
Thesis writers should be registered for spring ENGL 499.

End of March/Early April 2025 - Thesis submissions will be due. When you submit your thesis, you will learn who is on your thesis committee and when your thesis defense will take place.

Mid-April 2025 - Thesis defenses take place these two weeks.

Early May 2025 - Thesis honors recommendations from the department are due to the Registrar.
