Dr. Williams discussed the challenges he encountered while at Amherst and how, upon reflection, those experiences prepared him for managing a life-threatening cardiac arrest.</p><p><strong>Herman Williams ’80</strong> has a long history as a senior executive with extensive healthcare expertise that includes the management and operations of large-scale national clinics and hospitals. His healthcare experience began as a healthcare manager of the Pacific Northwest Healthcare Consulting Division of Arthur Andersen. From there, he started his first consulting firm, Herman Williams Consulting.</p><p>Dr. Williams is currently the president of HW Healthcare Solutions, a multifaceted healthcare consulting firm focused on healthcare solutions for medical staffs, physician practices and hospitals. He is also an experienced executive coach, with a successful track record of developing leaders, teams and organizations for more than 10 years. He has achieved the ranking of Professional Certified Coach &nbsp;with the International Coach Federation.&nbsp;</p><p>He holds a Doctor of Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Washington and a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University. On a more personal note, he currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife of 32 years and 27-year-old son. In his spare time, he enjoys working out and composing/recording music.</p><p><strong>Jack Johnson Pannell ’80</strong> is the Head of School and Founder of Trinity Arch Prep. He is a nationally recognized leader, thinker, and writer about boys’ education. Mr. Pannell is an Amherst College graduate with an A.B. degree in American Studies. He has a J.D. degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.
