The Mead Art Museum offers free public admission six days a week, inviting visitors to experience the arts, find inspiration and joy, and connect with each other.
Located next to the towering Stearns Steeple in the heart of Amherst College’s campus, the Mead’s global collection includes over 20,000 objects spanning thousands of years. The galleries host a rotation of original and traveling exhibitions, as well as two permanent installations: a 17th century English knight's parlor, and Assyrian wall reliefs dated to the 8th century BCE.

Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Wednesday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Mead is free for all, and welcomes thousands of art appreciators every year from campus, the local community, and far beyond.
