Kea ft. Mount Brewster
“Keas are the only alpine parrots in the world and can be found throughout New Zealand's South Island. These birds have grown used to interacting with humans and often steal food or damage gear when encountered on a track. To give you an idea about how comfortable these birds have become around humans, I was about 5-10 feet away from it when I took this picture.”

Hands, Vietnam
“I spent my first weekend during my study abroad in Vietnam traveling around the Northern Highlands in a hill station town called Sa Pa. This region is known for its high density of Hmong people, who have farmed the terraced rice patties for generations. While walking along a tourist-filled path, I took notice of an older Hmong woman in a shop front, hand-detailing fabric with ink and an unfamiliar wooden tool. I stopped for a moment to observe her careful, delicate work and then went on my way.”

Mother and Son, Kyrgyzstan
“In this picture, my dad is feeding his mother. He always smiles and jokes around her. My father behaves like a little toddler, but there is nothing else that makes her laugh as much as her 59-year-old son.”
