Research interest: How the respectability politics of Jim Crow shaped the lives of African-American women in the South between Reconstruction and women's suffrage.

Extracurricular activities: Event chair for the QuestBridge Low-Income Community, Dining Services Employee, Wellness Team Member, Student Office Assistant for the History Department, Writer for The Amherst Student Arts & Living Section, Writer for The Indicator, Diversity Outreach Intern 

Post-Amherst aspirations: Obtain a Ph.D. in American Studies (preferably from UNC-Chapel Hill or Duke University) and become a professor of American Studies, with a focus on increasing the intersectionality/gendered aspect of research about the Jim Crow South.  

Something interesting about me: I can say the alphabet backward in less than five seconds.
