Content Ownership

  • Amherst College's contract with Zoom stipulates that Amherst College maintains ownership of all customer data and customer content. 
  • Zoom agrees to return or destroy Amherst College information and data within 30 days of contract termination and upon written request.

Digital Accessibility

  • Zoom's phone and video platforms conform to the WCAG 2. 1 AA and revised Section 508 standards and allow for keyboard-only navigation and use with screen reader assistive technology. 
  • Zoom products have a number of accessibility features and options, including high-quality auto-generated captions and live transcripts, the capability for creating manual captions and using third-party captioning services such as Otter.ai and CART, a variety of flexible display options, voicemail transcription,  and the ability to use one's own preferred device for phone service so that one can use a phone or other device set-up with accessibility features enabled. 

Response to & Policy for Security Incidents

  • Amherst College's contract with Zoom provides requirements for the security incident response notice and process, including providing Zoom contact information for the IT personnel to notify.
