7/21/24: Windows Outage Due to CrowdStrike Update
The IT team continues to work to remediate client Windows systems.
If you are experiencing issues with your device and you have not already opened a ticket, please reach out to askit@amherst.edu.
Due to the nature of the issue, remediation requires a technician to physically attend to the device. We are exploring other solutions and will provide updates as other options become available.
We are strongly encouraging those who need assistance with repairing their computer to make an appointment with the Service Desk so we can better manage our support and avoid long lines. You can use this link to do so.

If you are not able to bring your device to the Service Desk, the IT team will work with you to make alternate arrangements until your device can be repaired.
As previously noted, this situation is related to a larger issue impacting numerous systems worldwide so you may run into residual effects with other systems and services outside of the College as businesses continue to remediate their systems.
