We are happy to be able to share that the Housing Portal is now open to all new students. The portal is a key step in determining your room and roommate and is due Monday, July 1, 2024.
Roommates will be assigned based on your responses to the questionnaire in the portal. This questionnaire encompasses your routine and preferences, including the time of day you prefer to wake up and go to sleep, smoking or vaping habits, preferred study environments, and guest preferences. We do not accommodate specific residence halls or roommate requests.
Housing assignments will be shared by Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Fall move-in is Tuesday, August 27, 2024 with assigned arrival windows forthcoming. Some new students may arrive earlier when enrolled in formal pre-orientation initiatives.
For students seeking housing accommodations, contact Accessibility Services at accessibility@amherst.edu. Requests for accommodations and documentation are due to Accessibility Services by Monday, June 17. You can learn more about accommodations for incoming students on their website.

The College does not offer on-campus storage for items, including empty suitcases or totes, so pack mindfully.

- Fall move-out on Saturday, December 21, 2024
- Spring move-in on Sunday, January 26, 2025
- Spring move-out on Friday, May 16, 2025
