About Us

The Office of Sustainability strives to promote sustainable communities that are socially just and equitable, environmentally sound and resilient, and economically viable and inclusive.

The Amherst College Office of Sustainability hires a number of student fellows to help assist the college with its sustainability efforts and initiatives. This blog introduces our student fellows and provides an ongoing account of their work from helping realize our Climate Action Plan, to charting a path to zero waste, to improving the campus food system, to promoting sustainable lifestyles and living among our students, faculty, and staff.

Our student bloggers will share their projects, personal anecdotes, and reflections from their work with the Office of Sustainability to help readers better understand our efforts to improve our campus sustainability and engage students on sustainability issues both inside and outside the classroom.

We invite you to follow along, to reflect and learn with us as we aspire to a more sustainable future!
