The Theater and Dance Department offers courses at four levels:

  • 100-level courses provide broad entry points to a variety of topics and practices. They introduce students to performance-making principles, skills in collaboration and creative thinking, and broad topics in performance history and literature.
  • 200-level courses offer opportunities to study particular practice areas or topics. They also emphasize understanding the relationship between knowledge and collaboration, and/or skills in analysis and interpretation.
  • 300-level courses are targeted work in creative practice, collaboration, and/or research, often culminating in finished projects. They help students to further develop specific skills in the context of a generative process and prepare them for more independent work.
  • 400-level courses focus on the realization of advanced projects and independent research.
