On April 18, the entire Amherst community—alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff—will come together for a one-day fundraising campaign for Amherst.
In a 24-hour period, Amherst hopes to receive over a thousand gifts—big and small, online and in person—that support financial aid, research opportunities, artistic exploration, championship athletics, dedicated faculty and talented students. Giving Day is one of the most important days of the year for the Amherst Fund. The participation of so many members of the Amherst community makes a huge difference in a short amount of time.
Our goal is 1,000 gifts in 24 hours and if we reach our goal, a generous donor will give an additional $100,000 for Amherst.
To make this giving day even sweeter, we’re adding Atkins cider donuts to the mix. If a donor makes a gift in honor of someone on campus (a faculty member, staff person, or student), that person will get an email notifying them and asking them to pick up an Atkins apple cider donut (or an apple if they prefer!) at one of four tables on campus in Frost, Keefe, Valentine, and Alumni Gym.
Make a Gift
You can make a gift online, through Venmo (@AmherstFund), or in person at one of our tables in Frost Library, Keefe Campus Center, Valentine Dining Hall, or the Alumni gym.
The Amherst Fund (which is comprised of the Alumni Fund and The Parents' Fund) has been key to the College’s excellence over time, allowing Amherst to apply resources as needed across campus. The Amherst Fund is vital to the College’s philanthropic health and makes up over 5% of the total operating budget each year.
For Amherst gifts count towards the Promise Campaign, the College’s five-year, $625 million campaign to preserve Amherst’s longstanding strengths while supporting the College’s ambitions to innovate in instructional and curricular practices.
