The PBS children’s series Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman filmed part of an upcoming episode at the Amherst Museum of Natural History in June. Dressed as detectives, two young contestants on the program (which is part reality show, part spoof) posed questions about dinosaurs and dinosaur footprints to Steve Sauter (far right), the museum’s coordinator of education, while cameras rolled. “Ruff, check this out: that is one pretty stone,” one of the contestants said, pointing to a purple rock in a museum display case. That particular exchange was one-sided: Ruff, an animated dog, is the show’s star. He was not on set.
