I know this is not directly related to the class, but I found this to be fairly interesting. The Anti Gay Movement group  in Malawi wants to hold referendum on homosexuality because of recent event and the country such as the arrest of the gay couple...

A new report shows wealth discrepancy between women: once race is taken into account, marriage impacts women very differently. it turns out that white women can afford staying out of marriage more than women of color, who rather benefit economically from it.

Study finds median wealth for single black women at $5

The article reports on a new study  from The Insight Center for Community Economic Development, titled “Lifting as We Climb: Women of Color, Wealth, and America’s Future.”  The report is an in-depth look at the issues in wealth accumulation particular to black women, Latinas, Asian and Native American women.  One of the report's most shocking findings is that the median wealth for single black women in the United States is $5!

Carlos Slim named richest man in the world for the third consecutive year
