Thesis Proposal Form: 2024-25

Please use this form to submit a PDF of your thesis proposal. 

Class of  2023 and '25E Proposals are due by 4:00 pm on Friday, April, 2024.

Your attached proposal should be between 450 and 550 words and have the following components:

  1. Tentative title of thesis.
  2. Tentative thesis advisor(s). PLEASE NOTE: The Latinx & Latin American Studies Program expects prospective thesis students to discuss their projects with prospective advisor(s) prior to submitting proposals. 
     
  3. Discussion of topic and its significance: explain the topic, what is interesting about it, how it relates to larger questions, what is important about the topic.
  4. Discussion of sources: In one paragraph or less, explain the type of sources you plan to use, and their availability to you. You should demonstrate a familiarity with what is available - do not simply say "a lot of sources." You need to be specific. You do not need to provide a bibliography.
