The papers are organized into four series:

Series I, ZINAIDA SCHAKOVSKOY PAPERS, 1909-1982 [1930-1979], 9.5 linear feet, is the most complex series in the papers. This series reflects Zinaida Schakovskoy's professional, literary, and personal life and activities. It is further divided into six subseries: Personal Correspondence, Professional Correspondence, Professional and Research Materials, Writings, Personal Materials, Photographs, Negatives and Reproductions.

Subseries 1, Personal Correspondence, 1920-1981, 0.5 linear feet, contains Z. Schakovskoy's correspondence with family and friends and documents Z. Schakovskoy's personal life. The series is arranged alphabetically by correspondent and each folder is arranged in chronological order.

Subseries 2, Professional Correspondence, 1925-1982, 2.5 linear feet, consists of general literary correspondence, letters of the readers regarding Z. Schakovskoy's literary works, letters from the listeners of Z. Schakovskoy's broadcast programs, editorial correspondence of Russkaia mysl', letters from the Soviet and Yugoslavian correspondents and from the third Russian emigration. The series is arranged alphabetically by correspondent and then in chronological order.

Subseries 3, Professional and Research Materials, 1930-1980 [1956-1979], 2.0 linear feet, is divided into several groups: Buniniana - conference and research materials (in alphabetical order by type and then in chronological order); Valeria Dauwalder - research materials and photographs; Dahl literary prize (in alphabetical order by type and then chronologically); Goncharova centenary (in alphabetical order); Nabokoviana (in alphabetical order by type and then in chronological order); Pushkiniana (in alphabetical order by type and then chronologically); Russkii Al'manakh (by table of contents); Russian scouts (in alphabetical order by type); Tsvetaeva seminar and symposium (in alphabetical order).

Subseries 4, Writings, 1930-1980 [1960-1979], 2.5 linear feet, is grouped as follows: Articles by Z. Schakovskoy in French (in alphabetical order by type); Broadcast programs by Z. Schakovskoy in Russian (in chronological order); Novels and poems by Z. Schakovskoy; Translations by Z. Schakovskoy into and from Russian and French (in chronological order); Reviews of Z. Schakovskoy's books (in alphabetical order by the title of the book). The Journal and newspaper publications contain a collection of Z. Schakovskoy's articles, essays and reviews in the form of photocopied clippings or journal reprints in English, French, German and Russian, arranged alphabetically by type and then in chronological order.

Subseries 5, Personal Materials, 1909-1981 [1916-1980], 1 linear foot, contains biographical materials; employment papers and curriculum vitae; materials relating to Schakovskoy's family and ancestors; World War II materials; religious and other mementos. The series is arranged alphabetically by type and each folder is arranged in chronological order.

Subseries 6, Photographs, Negatives and Reproductions, 1910-1980 [1940-1969], 1 linear foot, consists of family, relatives' and friends' photographs. It also contains photographs from Z. Schakovskoy's life in the Belgian Congo and her professional life as a war journalist. The series is arranged alphabetically by type and then in chronological order.

Series II, SVIATOSLAV MALEWSKY-MALEVICH PAPERS, 1906-1981 [1930-1973], 2 linear feet, is divided into five subseries: Correspondence - Incoming and Outgoing (in alphabetical order by correspondent and then chronologically); Writings by S. Malewsky-Malevich (in chronological order); Artworks, Scrapbooks and Sketchbooks (in alphabetical order by type); Europasian Movement Materials (in alphabetical order by type); Publications by Europasian Movement (in alphabetical order by the title of the book); and Personal Materials (in alphabetical order by type and then in chronological order).

Series III, DMITRII SCHAKOVSKOY PAPERS, 1917-1979, 1 linear foot, is divided into five subseries: Family Correspondence (in alphabetical order by correspondent and then in chronological order); General Correspondence (in alphabetical order by correspondent); Personal Materials (in alphabetical order by type); and Writings (in alphabetical order by type and then in chronological order). This series contains biographical materials, curriculum vitae, promotion materials, photographs, poems by Strannik and reviews of his work.

Series IV, THIRD PARTY MATERIALS, 1908-1981 [1923-1956], 1 linear foot, is divided into three subseries: Correspondence (in alphabetical order by correspondent, then chronologically), Writings (in alphabetical order by type), and Personal Materials (in alphabetical order). The series contains letters to and from people belonging to Schakovskoys' family circle, holograph and printed materials by them, mementos, personal documents, and photographs.
