Please bring sturdy walking shoes, water, sun protection, and a bagged lunch (if you want to picnic at the summit). The hike is ~3 miles and includes a mild elevation gain (~450'). This year we also celebrate the generous donations of alumni in funding the inaugural Franklin S. Odo Prize, which will be awarded annually to a senior who has produced an outstanding thesis in the area of Asian/Pacific/American Studies. The prize is named in honor of Professor Odo in recognition of his foundational contributions to the field of Asian/Pacific/American Studies as well as his extraordinary dedication to the students of Amherst College.
