Immigration Check-In
As a new international student or exchange visitor, you are required to complete an immigration check-in with the OIS as soon as possible after your arrival in the US.
This check-in is legally required in order for the college to confirm that you have reported to your school. You will be asked to present the following immigration documents:
- Your passport bio page
- Your F-1* or J-1 visa
- Please note that if you are a Canadian citizen in F-1 status, you will not have a visa stamp in your passport.
- Your I-20 or DS-2019
- Your I-901 fee receipt
- Your I-94 record
- Your entry stamp
To complete this requirement, please submit the OIS's F-1 New Student Check-in Form form.
Once you have completed this required check-in process and have fully registered for your courses, the OIS will update your registration status and “activate” your SEVIS record.
