Introduction

The Library’s Print Reserve collection consists of physical material that is set aside in a specific library - either Frost, Keefe Science Library, or Morgan Music Library. The primary targets for print reserve are books students are required to buy. Faculty can request Print Reserves by emailing the Course Reserves Team (reserves@amherst.edu).

Finding a Course's Print Reserves

Once faculty reach out and request material to be put on Print Reserves, the materials will be processed, and a list of the materials requested can be found through the Reserves Tab of the Discover Search box on the Library’s homepage. Search for your course by entering your four letter department code, hyphen, course number, ex: ANTH-332.

At the top of the search result page, before the usual search results, there will be a placard titled Course Reserves. Click on the “View Reserves” link after the Course’s name and a list of your materials will appear. If no placard appears, you may need to clear your browser’s cache/cookies or try again from an incognito window. If you have tried both of these and still do not see your course, reach out to Course Reserves!
