Placement information for Greek and Latin classes:
There are no formal placement exams. For new students who have previous knowledge of Greek and/or Latin, the courses numbered in the 200s are good starting points for college reading in the original languages.
Students can obtain further advice on placement in the language classes from the department chair, Tom Zanker (azanker@amherst.edu), or from the instructor of the course that interests them.
