Amherst Today: Democracy

On-Campus Lifelong Learning

Join us on campus May 3 - 4, 2019 for an interdisciplinary look at democracy. Lectures and discussion will explore the foundations and implementation of democracy in many different times and settings. Speakers include: Lawrence Douglas, Javier Corrales, Ceridwen Cherry '06, Andreas Georgiou '83, Olufemi Vaughan, Leah Schmalzbauer,  Francis G. (Frank) Couvares, Christopher van den Berg, and current students.

Amherst Today provides alumni, parents and students the opportunity to experience a two-day on-campus program, offering intellectual exploration and discussion on a single topic. 

The registration fee for the program and meals (lunch and dinner Friday; breakfast and lunch on Saturday) is $100 per person.

Upcoming: Amherst Today in November 2019 will explore Amherst College's story post-WWII to the present.
