On September 6, 2004, President Anthony W. Marx delivered the Opening Convocation address, titled "Founding Ideals and Current Threats."
During the Convocation ceremony, Faculty Marshal Rose R. Olver and Dean of Faculty Gregory S. Call presented President Anthony W. Marx with an honorary degree (left). Honorary degrees also were awarded to Professor of Fine Arts Nicola Courtright and Professor of Classics Cynthia Damon.
