The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was signed into federal law by President Barack Obama on July 21, 2010. Passed as a response to the Great Recession, it made regulatory changes that affect almost every part of the nation's financial services industry. Some critics argue it is not enough to prevent another financial crisis or more bailouts, and others argue it goes too far and unduly restricts financial institutions. What do you think? We will be polling the class. Panelists are Kathryn Fulton '83, Elizabeth Kelly '84, P'12, Michael Smith '84 and Professor Geoffery Woglom. Ethan Bernstein '98, assistant professor of leadership and organizational behavior at the Harvard Business School, will moderate.
